Not Sure what Size Hinge to Get?

For most homes the residential size hinge (3.5”) will work for your doors. If you have heavy or tall door you’ll want to choose the 4” hinges. We sell solid door hinges that will stand up for years of opening, closing, and depending on the average age of your household, slamming.

Besides the material they are made of, there are three basic styles to choose from; 5/8”, ¼” and square. You’ll want to make sure you order the correct replacement for what you already have. If you have square hinges it’s pretty easy to tell you’ll need square hinges to replace them. Radius corner door hinges are sometimes a little more difficult to figure. So we found a simple test that helps you know what kind of hinge you need.

¼” Radius Corner Hinge If you hold a dime up to the corner of the hinge and the radius is just a little smaller than a dime, this is a ¼” round corner door hinge. If it’s larger try the next step.

5/8” Radius Door Hinge If you hold a quarter up to the corner of the hinge and it’s pretty much the same size you have a 5/8” radius corner door hinge.
